Home Readers considers your trust to be our most important asset -- and we realize that we must earn your trust before we should receive it. Therefore, we have both established and fully implemented a Privacy Policy which demonstrates our concern for the confidentiality of all of the personal information which you will ever submit to us. In General

It is the general policy of Home Readers to treat every bit of information that you give to us as being entirely confidential. Accordingly, for example, we will not make any of that information available to any other business entity.

Exception -- "Plastic" Transactions

When you request products which are not "Free" to you, AND when you make payment by means of supplying us with the number and expiration date of a credit (or debit) card, then we will communicate with that card's transaction processing center in the standard ways. You should be aware of the fact that we add a surcharge of six percent on all Credit (or Debit) Card charges.

Exception -- Name To Publisher(s)

From time to time, a catalog publisher will request a list of the people to whom Home Readers has distributed their catalog(s). We are glad to comply with these requests -- because they demonstrate the importance of the work that we do for both the publisher and the community of blind and visually-impaired people. However, it is rare that any information beyond a simple first name and last name is either requested of us or supplied by us.

Exception -- Order Fulfillment

As a general rule, we of Home Readers perform our own Order Fulfillments -- the actual handling and delivering for shipment of whatever you have ordered or purchased from us. Under the rare circumstances of an order being actually fulfilled by another business entity, Home Readers will supply that business with the necessary information. That information will include both your complete mailing address and a list of those items which you have ordered AND which are to be fulfilled by that business.

Internet "Spying"

The Home Readers web-site uses NO "COOKIES" -- whether to track your "visit" to the web-site, to "customize your visiting experience", to "streamline ordering" or otherwise.

The Home Readers web-site uses NO "BUGS" (also known as "transparent GIF's" and by other terms) for any purpose what-so-ever.

Business Partners

Home Readers neither has nor will have any so-called "business partners" with whom we would "exchange" or "share" any kind of customer list -- except for the name-lists mentioned above.

Telephone Numbers

Home Readers DOES request your telephone number(s) in order to facilitate direct contact in the event of any question or problem concerning your orders. Because we are not yet prepared for "E-Commerce", we will also use your telephone number(s) in order to make suitable financial arrangements when one or more of the items you order is not available "Free" to you.
